Cylinder Head
Our cylinder heads
are developed on a flow bench and dyno tested to ensure significant
performance improvements. A tremendous amount of
research and development is
conducted focusing on port design and valve seat
angles to maximize volumetric efficiency.
The development of a cylinder head port relies on
several factors to truly maximize the
volumetric efficiency. Our primary focus covers the
following points; correct valve size,
pressure recovery dynamics, proper port sizing,
port mapping, wet flow, and mixture motion.
By focusing on these particular points we have the
ability to develop cylinder heads that
not only perform experimentally on the flow bench
but in real world racing applications.
The quality and precision of valve seat geometry
also is an area of great importance,
it determines how well the valves seal against gas
pressure, how fast heat transfer away
from the valve head, and the rate at which the
mating surface will wear during operation.
Aside from the thermomechanical factors, the valve
seat geometry significantly influences
the gas flow behavior in a critical area for the
gas exchange process. Our research
and development has determined that this area is
responsible for approximately
35% to 40% of the port flow.
